We are lucky to be able to bring in Jim Hamel from Texas for this amazing program on Landscape and Travel photography. Jim will give us tips on landscape/travel photography. There will be a discussion on neutral density filters and on how to get started becoming a paid photographer in these fields.
For many years, Jim Hamel has been on a quest to see the most beautiful places in the world and to photograph them. Every year, he embarks on international and domestic adventures – trekking through mountains, boating through waterways, cycling scenic routes, and journeying to amazing landscapes – all in an effort to create compelling scenic images.
Along the way, he turned this passion into a business – both as a photographer and an educator. Through his online courses at Digital Photography School, he has taught thousands of aspiring photographers. In addition, tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of his prints have been sold through online sales, art fairs, and his association with BEHN Gallery.
As a PPA member, he was awarded his Master of Photography degree and earned Gold or Silver awards in the International Photographic Competition each year from 2017 – 2022 when the competition format changed. He is also an honorary, but active, member of the Daguerre Club of Indiana.
He currently focuses on leading photography tours to stunning locations in Ireland, France, Scotland, and beyond. You can learn more about him and see his images at www.jimhamel.com.
